The 12-month sleep regression
Around 12 months, standing, first steps and changing naps can briefly disturb sleep.
26 August 2026 · 2 min read · A Baby Bee Blossom family note
From our home
Some babies resist naps, stand in the cot or wake more near their first birthday. This is a common window, not a fixed stage.
What to expect
- Standing or practising steps at bedtime.
- Resisting one or both naps.
- More calling out for you.
What can help
- Practise sitting back down during the day, as a game.
- Keep the last part of the day calm.
- Do not change the nap routine after only a few hard days.
